Our Leaders

Dr. Michael McGuire has worked in the veterinary medical field for the last nineteen years. He started off volunteering to clean kennels while a sophomore in high school but soon earned himself a position as veterinary technician. He is a 1995 graduate of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, his first job was at a busy small animal, exotic and avian practice in Plano. In 1996 he purchased North Irving Animal Clinic where he ran the single doctor practice for the next seven years. In March 2003, Dr. McGuire purchased Carrollton Animal Hospital.

Dr. McGuire is a member of several veterinary organizations including the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians, and the American Heartworm Society. He is also a member of the Veterinary Information Network, an online veterinary community, that allows him to interact daily with veterinarians from around the world discussing interesting cases and new technologies that help us to improve our patient's health and safety both while in our hospital and at their own home.

Dr. McGuire was married in March of 2006 to our practice manager Nicole and he has two beautiful children Alyssa and Drew.  They have five cats and a Chihuahua named Ivy.

Nicole McGuire has been in the Veterinary field for the last ten years after graduating from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Criminal Justice.  She managed a small animal practice in College Station for six years then began selling Veterinary pharmaceuticals in Grapevine before coming to us.  Nicole is our Jack of all trades!  Generally she handles the business side of things but is also very involved in the animal care.  Due to her previous experience as a technician and receptionist she is always able to fill in when needed.  As our practice manager she is always available for any personal concerns you may have so feel free to contact her anytime.

Amanda has been married to her husband Jeremy since 1999 and has two beautiful daughters named Abbi and Micah.  They also share their home with four dogs, Whitey the Great Dane, Whillie the English Bulldog, Rambo the Shih Tzu, and Zoe the Mini Dachshund.  In addition to the dogs, they also have 5 cats, Rosco, Jack, Marvin, Speedy, and Miss Gray.

Viola Dominguez has been in the veterinary field for a long time. She currently looks after our patients that are being hospitalized as well as the boarders that stay with us. She assures that the dogs and cats are fed and watered, walked or let in the yard for supervised play, and are clean, comfortable and happy while they are here. She also monitors and watches for any potential problems that the pet may have such as loss of appetite, strange behavior or any sign of illness and immediately reports any changes to the nurse staff or directly to the veterinarian in charge.

Viola's native language is Spanish and to date is learning English as a second language, of which she understands 60% verbally and some degree of written words.

She has been working at Carrollton Animal Hospital for many years and will continue to provide quality care to the animals that come to stay with us, whether for surgery, hospitalization, boarding or just plain drop by visits!
