Carrollton Animal Hospital

AVAILABLE THROUGH A RESCUE GROUP NOW! The first pup we have available is a rat terrier mix that is a few years old.  Peter is his name and he is from the Euless Animal Shelter.  We got a call from the shelter when this fella and his "lady" friend were left alone when their owners moved out and left them with little or no food or water.  Thankfully they were found before it was too late!  The "lady" friend was adopted to a nice family but Peter had a medical issue and had to be seen by a doctor.  On Peter's face he had what we thought was a huge tumor but as it turns out he had what was only an abscess.  Once we were able to take care of the abscess we also found that he was heartworm positive.  We have since treated Peter for heartworms, neutered him, done all his vaccinations, did a fecal that was negative and got him all fixed up!  He was pretty thin from being left alone and his coat in bad condition but we are working on putting the weight back on and getting the glossy coat that he will soon have.

Peter is a kind sole that is looking for someone to love.  He likes to be close to the people around him and does okay with dogs.  The only dog we tested him with was a lot more high energy then him and he wasn't feeling so great so he was just a little unsure of the situation.  He seems a little sad sometimes, maybe about loosing his "lady" friend.  If you are looking to give this fella a place to call his own, please contact the clinic for an applicaiton.  The adoption fee is $100 to go toward the next pet we want to save.

AVAILABLE THROUGH A RESCUE GROUP NOW! The second pup we have available is a corgi mix that is about a year old.  We got him from a local shelter when he was injured and was going to be put to sleep.  Once we got him to the clinic Dr. McGuire found that his back hip was out of the socket and that it was an old injury that was causing him great pain.  He had to remove the leg that was damaged so that will now allow him to lead a normal life.  We have also performed a heartworm test, intestinal parasite check, done all vaccinations for the next year of life as well as neutered him.  If you are interested in adopting this guy please contact us at the clinic.  His adoption fee is $100 to go to help the next pet that comes along.

THESE BABIES HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!  We have picked up some kitties from the local animal shelters when the pets were going to be put to sleep and have now made them available for adoption.  Dr. McGuire has tested each kitten for Felv/ FIV, done an intestinal parasite check, done vaccinations and each has been spayed or neutered.  We have done the FVRCP, Rabies and FELV vaccinations for the kittens next year or first year of life.  There are many colors, genders and personalities so please call or come by to meet them.  The kittens have an adoption fee of $100 go to the next pet we get to save

ADOPTED!  This little girl was found by one of our employees when she noticed some kids kicking her and pulling her with her tail.  Our employee found out that the kids didn't know where the dog belonged so she took her away to our clinic.

We have found her to be maybe a year old and as sweet as pie and so loving!  She appears to be maybe a longhair dachshund mix with maybe a chihuahua or something tiny as she is so small, about 10 pounds.  We have done her heartworm test negative, fecal negative, first month of heartworm prevention,  rabies vaccination done, first dhpp, bv, and lepto done.  We have now sent this little lady to a local rescue group so if you are interested in adopting her please let us know and we will get you in contact with them

Yea, this baby has found a home of her own!  The first pup that we have for adoption is a Dalmatian that is about 10 months old.  We got her from an owner that could not afford to take care of her and the surgery that she needed for her eyes to prevent her eye's from being damaged and pain as she grew older.  Dr. McGuire has performed the expensive surgery, spayed her, done a heartworm test, an intestinal parasite check, both are negative, and done all of vaccinations for the year.  She has also been started on heartworm prevention.  This little girl has been such a joy to take care of and is just a loving and precious baby.  She runs around outside and loves to be played with.  If you are interested in adopting this little lady please contact us, she is going to be a wonderful fur baby for someone to call their own!

Henry has now been adopted!  This pup that is available is a Yorkshire Terrier Mix that is about 7 or 8 years old.   “Henry” is what we are calling him, was at the Garland Animal Shelter and high on the list of the next animal to be put to sleep.  Nicole McGuire was at the shelter and decided to take him out to try and give him another chance.  This pup has been neutered, has his vaccinations, been tested heartworm tested negative, intestinal parasite check negative and been started on heartworm prevention.   Dr. McGuire has found that he has lost much if not all of his sight, though this has not stopped him at all from being able to get around EVERYWHERE!   “Henry” roams the back yard at the clinic as well as at the front office of the clinic and you would never know he was sight impaired, he seems to be well adjusted.  He is potty trained and knows right where to go when we open the kennel door.  This guy is going to need to loose some weight as he has managed to pack on a few pounds at his last home.  “Henry” will make a perfect lap dog as he is such a cuddle bug.

HAS BEEN ADOPTED TO A WONDERFUL FAMILY!!!  The fourth pup we have for adoption is an 8 or 9 month old Cocker Spaniel mix of some sort.  She is going to weight maybe at most 30# full grown but, as you can see from her photos, she is kind-of hard to tell what she is just yet!  We have nicknamed her “Iris” at this moment and she too came from the Garland Animal Shelter.  Nicole McGuire was sent the original photo of her and asked if the animal clinic could help out this poor pup as the shelter was going to put her to sleep because she was sick.  We immediately agreed to help her and went to get her.  Once we got her we found that she had a case of mange and a skin infection that could be cured in a couple of weeks, certainly no reason to put this young dog to sleep!  “Iris did feel very bad, her skin was VERY hot and she itched all over.  Once we got medication into “Iris” she has started feeling better and she has come to life!  We have done vaccinations, an intestinal parasite check, heartworm test negative, and started her on heartworm prevention.  She is still healing from the skin infection and her hair is growing back in.  We will be performing the spay procedure for this little girl as soon as she is ready.  As you can see she is need of another bath and a good brushing but while she is finishing up on her mange treatment she is still contagious so we have to wait until she is done.  We know that this young little girl is going to make a perfect addition to someone’s family as she is loving and playful so we wanted to get her story out there as soon as possible.

NOW ADOPTED! This furry friend is available is a 6 year old Shih Tzu named Mandy, she is a WONDERFUL girl!  Mandy was brought to us by one of our employees that had previously found her a home after she found her and now that home no longer can care for her.  Mandy is spayed, had her vaccinations, had an intestinal worm check negative, heartworm test negative, been started on heartworm prevention and we are performing a dental cleaning on her so she will have shinny pearly white teeth!  Mandy is a sweet little lady who has recently had a new haircut.  When she came back to us her hair had not been cared for so she was very matted, this is why she is cut down so short.  Mandy will be a wonderful family member to anyone who is looking to add a quite, loving, cute little pup to their crew!

ADOPTED to a wonderful family!!! This pup is a great Lab lady named "Sugar"  This young lady, about 4 years old, was adopted out to a new home from the Garland Animal Shelter to a new family but the new family's dog they already had didn't care of the new addition so "Sugar" is back on the search for a new place to call her own.  While visiting the shelter over the weeks I, Nicole McGuire, had noticed her and how calm and quite she was, she was always so gentle, I was just thrilled to learn that she had found an adoptive home.  Sadly not all these things work out.  A rescue group has stepped in and is now willing to take her in as being returned to the shelter is an immediate reason to be put to sleep.  We are fostering this sweet pup for a few days while she waits to be transported to her next stop then again will wait for her forever home.  If you are interested in adopting this loving lab please contact us and we will be able to put you in contact with the rescue group that is working to give this girl a second chance!  The last photos is "Sugar" in her new home!!!  As you can see she is living the hard life on her comfy couch!

ADOPTED to a wonderful home!!!  The first puppy that is available for adoption is a Rat Terrier puppy that is about 4 months old.  She was brought into us when a Good Samaritan found her running in traffic.   When we were unable to find her owner we decided to spay her, give her the first set of vaccinations, perform an intestinal parasite check negative, and gave her the first month of heartworm prevention.  She will still need to have two more sets of vaccinations however if she is still with us when they are due we will take care of them.  This little girl is so playful and cute, as you can see and will make a great addition to any family!

He has been ADOPTED to a wonderful home!!!!  This small breed 8 month old puppy is available for adoption. He came to us after he was hit by a car and the owner couldn’t afford to take care of him.   His leg was broken during the accident and he had “road rash” but for being hit by a car, he turned out pretty good. We have neutered him; heartworm tested, checked for intestinal parasites, and started him on heartworm prevention as well as his vaccinations. He appears to be a possible mix of Shih Tzu, Pug, Lhasa, or possible terrier mix. As you can tell, were not so sure! His name is Snickers but because of his age he isn’t all that aware of that so it could be change.   This little guy is VERY loving and LOW key. He does well around other dogs as well as cats. His personality is a plus and would make a great family pet. Because he has been at our clinic for rehabilitation for sometime we are pretty sure he is potty trained already but we can’t give a guarantee! We are asking for a donation toward our Vincent Rescue Fund for our next pet that comes through that needs our help.

All of these kittens and mothers have been ADOPTED!!!  We also work with many rescue groups, one of which needs help desperately. They are in desperate need of folks that would like to adopt kittens and or cats, people that would like to foster kittens/cats, foster mommy cats with nursing kittens, or donate funding.

There are so many ages, colors and personalities to pick from that just about anyone could find what they are looking for. Most of these felines come from local shelters where they are on their last paw so the rescue group pulls them out to give them an opportunity to be adopted.

In June the group pulled out FIVE mothers with nursing kittens (26 kittens in total) and one pregnant mother, all of which were to be put to sleep the next day. All of the animals are in people’s homes for foster care until they grow old enough to be spayed or neutered, get their vaccinations and the other medical necessities to get started out right.

Foster homes are needed just as much as permanent homes. If you have an extra bedroom or bathroom and would be interested in opening your home to a feline or feline family let us know and we will pass your information on to the group for them to contact you. They need to have adults as well as kittens fostered so give it some thought.

Thank you for you time.
