"The Irving Seven from Fritz park!' All but one boy at the clinic and one boy that is in foster have been adopted! Mama dog is still at the clinic but someone is coming by on 9-4-10 to hopefully adopt her and give her a new start at life! Well, "things looked bleak for these pups but there was a hero in the park. A city employee who was looking out for them, his angel. This man who managed to wrangle the dogs together and hold them until we were able to get there to pick them up and give them a beginning with the help of local rescue groups and a lot of work! By the afternoon, the seven dogs, Mom and three boys and three girls (wearing numbers on their collars for now) - were romping in the kennel run and enjoying good health.
Against great odds, these dumped dogs appear to have been well cared for before they were dumped. Speaking of miracles, not one of these North Texas dogs is heartworm positive. How's that for beating the odds? Mom is young and the puppies appear to be about 3 months old. They weigh in at 25 to 30 rambunctious pounds! We took them in because other rescue groups are kind of overwhelmed right now and they needed help right away.
What we need right now is homes for these puppies and mama is good adoptive homes or fosters for these guys especially with Labor Day coming up this weekend! We have done flea treatment, fecals, deworming, the first round of vacinations and will spay or neuter them in the adoption fee. Anyone who would like to make donations to help with the rescue of "the Irving 7" is welcome to contact us, of course what we would really love is homes!
This first set of photos is when they were found at the park and the rest is at the clinic when there are safe!
