Dr. Michael W. McGuire has worked in the veterinary medical field since he was a sophomore in high school. He began by volunteering to clean kennels at a veterinary clinic in Spring, Texas but soon earned a position as Veterinary Technician. He is a 1995 graduate of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, his first job was at a busy small animal, exotic and avian practice in Plano. In 1996 he purchased North Irving Animal Clinic where he ran the single doctor practice for seven years. In 2003, Dr. McGuire purchased Carrollton Animal Hospital and continuously strives to improve the quality of medicine he offers his patients as well as customer service provided.
Dr. McGuire is a member of several veterinary organizations including the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, American Heartworm Society, and the Association of Sugar Glider Veterinarians. Dr. McGuire has now completed the course work to become credited in the use of Vet-Stem Small Animal Regenerative Stem Cell Therapy. He is also a member of the Veterinary Information Network, an online veterinary community, that allows him to interact daily with veterinarians from around the world discussing interesting cases and new technologies that help us improve our patients' health and safety, both while in our hospital and at their own home.
Dr. McGuire is married to our Practice Manager, Nicole and they have several cats and a Chihuahua named Ivy.
